Offshore Technology Conference Asia: Creating a Sustainable Energy Equation – The Next 50 Years

For Immediate Release -

The fourth edition of the Offshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia) is set to take place for the first time as a virtual event from 2-6 November 2020.

“This year’s theme “Excellence in Asia: Creating a Sustainable Energy Equation – The Next 50 Years”, is very apt, given the industry adapting to the new normal, while also preparing for the next normal,” says Adif Zulkifli, Executive Vice President & CEO, Upstream, PETRONAS, and “the discussion and more importantly the potential collaborations from OTC Asia will be extremely valuable for organisations and the industry in adapting to the changes ahead. Hence to survive, we need to collaborate and work together.”

OTC Asia 2020, initially scheduled for March 2020, will now be delivered as a virtual programme featuring thought leaders on their perspectives on navigating a disruptive business landscape, and solutions to address the challenges of balancing the “Energy Trilemma” – energy security, energy affordability and environmental sustainability.

“With this year’s OTC Asia being conducted virtually, it allows us to have access and connect wherever we are,” adds Adif Zulkifli.

According to OTC Board Chair, Cindy Yeilding, Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, BP, “OTC Asia is where industry professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources. Large international participation provides excellent opportunities for the global sharing of technology, expertise, products and best practices.”

The multi-disciplinary programme will include eight executive and CEO dialogues, twelve panel sessions, seven country sessions, and 50 technical sessions by presenters from across the globe.

“OTC Asia provides unmatched quality, with more than 270 peer-selected technical presentations, leveraging the collective knowledge of 13 industry associations, covering topics from wellbore to topsides and everything in between,” said Neil Kavanagh, OTC Asia Oversight Committee Chair and Chief Science & Technology Manager, Woodside Energy.

In addition to the conference, the virtual exhibition will also provide the industry the opportunity to form new connections, strengthen existing relationships, exchange ideas and develop partnerships to support and drive the industry forward by interacting with more than 30 virtual exhibitors and through digital networking tools.

OTC Asia 2020 is sponsored by PETRONAS, PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), McDermott, Oceaneering, Shawcor, TechnipFMC, Weatherford, COSL Drilling Pan Pacific, Dialog, ExxonMobil, Hibiscus Petroleum, Schlumberger, Total, Castrol, Bureau Veritas, Petrofac, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration and Sapura Energy.
