Description: Consisting of a dedicated exhibitor pavilion and a multi-track technical conference program this co-location capitalizes on the tremendous amount of synergy between the WorkBoat and Underwater Intervention audience. Underwater Intervention started in 1993 when the MTS ROV Committee and the Association of Diving Contractors International joined together to create the world's premier conference for Commercial Diving, ROVs, Underwater Surveys, AUVs, and Underwater Construction, Maintenance, and Repair Operations. 

Underwater Intervention attracts users and purchasers of Underwater Diving and ROV Contractors as well as manufacturers and distributors of equipment used in the ROV, Survey, AUV, and Commercial Diving Industries. Join us in November!

Building an Ocean Technician Workforce Using Microcredentials - (Nov 12 | 2 PM - 2:30 PM | UI Think Tank): There is a global need for skilled workers across multiple sectors within the marine industry. To prepare this workforce, we must collectively take action to establish attractive, innovative, agile and equitable educational opportunities. MATE Floats! Promoting the Development of new student skills through the MATE ROV Competition's MATE Floats! Mission - (Nov 13 | 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM | UI Classroom 1):For the past 22 years, the MATE ROV Competition has challenged students to expand their electrical mechanical and programming skills by creating an ROV that can complete a variety of underwater mission tasks using a tethered ROV. In 2022, MATE introduced a new type of challenge. MATE Floats!, inspired and funded by Go-BGC as part of the OneArgo array, tasked teams to build an independent self-profiling float. Student team members of all ages tackled this mission with creativity and ingenuity, building on their technical skills and understanding of ocean technology in use today. Learn more >>>

MATE Floats! Marine Technology Summer Workshop: Preparing Students with Technical Skills for the Maritime Industry -  (Nov 13 | 10 AM - 10:30 AM | UI Classroom 1): The MATE Floats! Marine Technology Summer Workshop is an advanced, immersive, multi-day learning experience around float technology, sensors, and data science. Hosted by the University of Washington's (UW) School of Oceanography, the goal of this five-day workshop is to provide students with the opportunity to learn about and experience marine technologies first-hand and to develop and build upon the skills they need for success in the technical workplace.
