MTS Member Webinar | Feed Your Curiosity: Join Blue Robotics as we plunge into the saucy future of marine technology

Description:

Blue Robotics aims to be reliable, high quality, made with love and shared with a smile, at a more affordable price point. Blue Robotics is bringing accessible ocean technology to makers who don’t have the time, money, effort or engineering resources to solve the simple, building block problems that keep us all stuck.

In this webinar, we are joined by Blue Robotics’ Director of R&D, Eldin Miller-Stead and Principal Engineering Physicist, Kenneth MacCallum, to discuss their priorities and ethos towards development for the coming year. They’ll discuss where they see the largest gaps and the specific challenges that they are working on to enable leaps in what is possible for accessibility in marine robotics.

Join us for an optimistic, forward-looking discussion that we hope sparks excitement about the future of marine robotics. Bring your questions, suggestions, thoughts and ideas as there will be 25 minutes at the end for discussion.

Date and Time:

Presenter:

Eldin Miller-Stead

Eldin leads BR's R&D team with energy and optimism that some would consider excessive. He sets a high technical bar for the company and his team, and contributes his creativity, experience, and sometimes poor ideas to many of the biggest design challenges they tackle. In the shower, Eldin likes to think about what the future should look like and the likely paths to get there. Under his guidance, the R&D team is pushing industry boundaries, making marine robotics more and more accessible. When he’s not doing that - he loves exploring British Columbia, making delicious pizza and making music!

Kenneth MacCallum

Kenneth is an innovative technical leader with a track record of creative, novel solutions to ill-posed multidisciplinary problems. He blends a wealth of experience with an innate desire to learn and grow along with a first-principles approach to exploring, modelling, and harnessing new ideas. He’s an incredible team player and mentor with proven chops in electronic design, firmware development and project management.

Kenneth brings 30 years of product development experience across multiple industries: marine robotics, medical device development and metrology instruments. He is eager to tackle complex acoustics and communications problems in marine robotics, while growing and nurturing our electronics team. Currently, he’s focused on developing core aspects of our future communications architecture.

In his spare time, Kenneth plays drums in a local band, makes delicious pizza, and cheerleads his two kids.
