MTS Scholarships Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mail my application and supporting documents?
No. All applications and forms must be sent via email or via the online application. The ONLY document that may be mailed in is an official sealed transcript, and only when the school does not have an Official eTranscript.
Can I send in more than one recommendation and reference form?
No. Please follow the guidelines given on the application.
Can I send in a recommendation and reference letter?
No. Only the required forms will be accepted. Letters of recommendation and reference will be rejected.
Do I need to send a copy of my resume/CV?
No. Please submit only the materials we have requested.
What kind of transcripts do you accept?
We can accept transcripts two ways:
1. A “Certified Electronic Transcript” also known as Official eTranscripts (a secure, certified PDF that is password protected and has been digitally signed and certified) and emailed from the school registrar’s office to email@example.com no later than Friday, April 19, 2019 by 11:59 PM EST.
2. Official sealed transcripts must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 19, 2019 and mailed to:

Please send only the most recent one from the school only. Do not send previous years or from multiple schools. This is the only document that has an option for being mailed in.
If I’m awarded the scholarship, what can I use the money for?
Money is to go toward tuition only for the current school year. The award cannot be applied towards room, board, book, equipment or anything other than tuition. The check is in US funds only and is sent directly to your Bursar’s Offices, not to scholarship recipients. No exceptions. This is a onetime award, not a continuous award.
Will you contact me if there is a problem with my application?
No. Due to the number of applications received, we will not be able to contact anyone if there is missing or unacceptable supporting documents. If you have questions please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 202-827-7174.
How long will it take to know if I won?
Please allow two months after the scholarship closing date for completion of the review process.
How do I know if I won?
You will be contacted by the office via email and/or phone call.
If I win, who is the check sent to?
To your Bursar’s office. We will ask you to provide that information when the winners are announced. We cannot send checks directly to students. If you are awarded a scholarship, we will need the Bursar’s office mailing address and your student ID shortly after we contact you to let you know you won.
