Diving Committee

Mission

The MTS Diving Committee’s purpose is to take an active leadership role in steering fundamental issues [and opportunities] surrounding the development and application of new diving technology and techniques among and between occupational diving communities. The Committee recognizes that the development and application of diving technology or related techniques is a scientific field unto itself (“diving science”), and intends to catalyze crucial cross-community cooperation and communication through its Code of Practice and related outreach activities which together will provide a framework to better align historically disparate diving community activities.

Agenda

A Code of Practice for Diving Program Management: Select Guidelines for Applying Technology in Occupational Diving Projects

The MTS Diving Committee’s purpose is to take an active leadership role in steering fundamental issues [and opportunities] surrounding the development and application of new diving technology and techniques among and between occupational diving communities. The Committee recognizes that the development and application of diving technology or related techniques is a scientific field unto itself (“diving science”), and as such has published a ‘Code of Practice’ as a logical framework to guide occupational diving practitioners through potentially complex and sometimes conflicting regulatory, compliance, health & safety, training, and proficiency concerns commonly present in diving program management. The Committee’s intends to catalyze crucial cross-community cooperation and communication through its Code of Practice and related outreach activities which together will provide a framework to better align historically disparate diving community activities.
