MTS Gulf Coast Section Seminar: Preparing for Geostationary Satellite Observations of the Future

The Marine Technology Society (MTS) Gulf Coast Section is excited to invite you to an in-person seminar featuring NOAA experts, where you'll learn about the next generation of geostationary satellites: GeoXO (Geostationary Extended Observations).

When: Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM
Where: 1021 Balch Blvd (MSU Building), Stennis Space Center, Seminar Room

About the Seminar

GeoXO is a revolutionary satellite system that will shape Earth observation capabilities for decades. Set to launch in the early 2030s, this system expands beyond weather observation to include climate, oceans, and air quality. It will continuously monitor the Western Hemisphere, with cutting-edge instruments improving data on hurricanes, severe storms, wildfires, ocean color, and more. This seminar offers an exclusive opportunity to:

  • Learn how GeoXO will advance our understanding of Earth systems.
  • Provide feedback to NOAA personnel on research and development for future data streams.

Featured Speakers

  • Pam Sullivan (NOAA NESDIS)
  • Andrew Heidinger (NOAA NESDIS)
  • Ryan Vandermeulen (NOAA Fisheries)
  • Additional speakers to be announced.

Don't miss this opportunity to engage with NOAA experts and your MTS community.
