Description:Kongsberg Discovery produces a range of AUVs used as sensor carriers to obtain high resolution data from the seabed. Recent results showing the detection of polymetallic nodules on synthetic aperture sonar images will be presented. Other examples with particular relevance to marine minerals will be presented, e.g. sediment cloud monitoring possibilities. Lund is Director Research in Kongsberg Discovery, and has a responsibility for external research collaborations. Berit has worked in various technical and strategic roles in KONGSBERG over the last 12 years. Prior to joining KONGSBERG she was a senior scientist within control engineering in SINTEF. She holds a doctors degree in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her scientific passion is for systems mathematics, modeling, control and advanced data analysis.

He has a PhD in Marine Geoscience from the University of Houston and works in both industry and academia.
