Rutgers University held two weeks of summer camp programs for undergraduate students with a focus on HF radar in the first week and underwater gliders in the second. Throughout the camps, students participated in classroom and field activities that introduced them to the technologies and the many applications they support. MTS Headquarters staff Monica Ostrander and Amanda Johnston traveled to the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston this month. We exhibited, networked and met with our members. We also held a networking reception at the Hotel ZaZa where MTS President-Elect Justin Manley spoke to MTS members about upcoming MTS initiatives and events. Retired Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, PhD, CEO of Ocean STL Consulting hosts the monthly podcast. Admiral Gallaudet is the former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Deputy NOAA Administrator, and before that Oceanographer of the Navy.
